Founded in 2001, WITTENSTEIN SPA is the Italian branch of the German WITTENSTEIN alpha GmbH, a division of the WITTENSTEIN AG Group.
The core business of the company is represented by design and construction
of planetary gearboxes with reduced backlash and linear transmission systems “gearbox-pinion-rack”, mainly intended for machine builders in various sectors (packaging machines, machine tools, sheet metal and plastic processing, wood, paper, etc.).
The group has 7 other Business Units that complete the offer of transmission solutions, from the production of gears and special toothed parts, with geometries designed and optimized for specific needs, to rotary and linear servo actuators, to servo drive systems based on three-phase brushless technology, also used in extreme conditions (UHV, radioactive environments or high temperatures), up to electronic components and software for complex mechatronic drive systems.
WITTENSTEIN products are used in the most diverse industrial sectors, including applications that require nanometric positioning accuracies of mechanical and optical components, but also in medical and aerospace technology, in Formula 1 and in Electromobility.
