FANUC ITALIA S.r.l.
Ever since Dr. Seiuemon Inaba, a true pioneer of the numerical control (NC) concept, founded the company in 1956, FANUC has always been at the forefront of the worldwide manufacturing revolution. Moving from the automation of a single machine in the late 50s to the automation of entire production lines in the following decades, Dr. Inaba kicked off this revolutionary development when he invented the first motor. electric impulse, programmed a numerical control for the motor and inserted the latter in a machine tool.
In an ongoing effort to push the boundaries of automation, increase productivity, make better products and reduce costs, Dr. Inaba and his team have continued their journey by developing a robot based on the same principles for loading machine tools.
Soon, other manufacturers and other design companies around the world were able to benefit from the technology devised by Dr. Inaba, thereby reducing costs and increasing productivity. And with the arrival of world-class products such as ROBOCUT, ROBODRILL and ROBOSHOT in manufacturing plants between the 70s and 80s of the last century, FANUC has been able to provide optimized solutions for an ever wider range of customers and industrial applications. In Japan, FANUC was the first company to build and use an automated factory with robots and CNC machine tools.
Sixty years after its founding and with more than 4.2 million CNC controls and 600.000 robots installed around the world, FANUC is now the world’s leading manufacturer of factory automation. Yet one thing hasn’t changed: FANUC’s great commitment to push the boundaries of automation and help its customers optimize production processes.
