IGEA S.p.a.

Igea, an in house Company of the independent Region of Sardinia, according to the regional law n. 33 of 4 December 1998, works in security activities, environmental restoration and reclamation of mining areas, disused and/or in the process of disposal, acting as part of the plans and lines of the Industry Department. The Company works substantially exclusively for the Region, doing mainly preservation, maintenance and securing work, necessary for the storage of 50 mining sites resulting from the extractive metal-bearing activity of the areas of the Sulcis Iglesiente and Medio Campidano and of the area of Lula. In this context, Igea plays also the extraordinary maintenance in the sites of high tourist interest from the pain of view archaeo-industrial.
Igea is also deputy, on behalf of the Region of Sardinia, at the implementation of reclamation of mining sites work and others sites identified with specific conventions, by virtue of the heritage of knowledge developed in engineering, geological, chemical and extractive scope.
Moreover, Igea manages the property heritage that it owns and preserves a precious historical mining heritage documentary, in the Monteponi Archive.
