IMERYS BENTONITE ITALY S.p.a.

Certified UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 has celebrated in 2012, still as Guido Vinçon Spa, its 85th year of activity in the production of additives for moulding sands in foundry industry.
Production plant is located in Cosseria, Valbormida area only 20 km from Savona seaport; it started operations here in 1987. Placed on a surface of 35.000 m2, it has a storage capacity in raw materials of 30.000 MT and an installed throughput of about 600 MT per day of finished products. A modern laboratory constantly monitors over 30 different chemical and mechanical parameters of finished products and incoming raw materials.

The core business of the company is the production of premixed bentonite / mineral black based products intended for use in cast iron foundries: this means dealing with a portfolio of high quality bentonites (mainly from the island of Milos) and foundry grade coal (of Venezuelan, Colombian origin).
The free analysis of molding sand samples includes 25 different tests whose results are recorded and carefully analyzed also with reference to previous samples, plant configurations and the customer’s production type. This phase of assistance, thanks to the modern techniques of statistical processing of data and historical series combined with over 50 years of experience in the steel sector, takes the form of precise indications on the methods and quantities of use of additives.

“The constant attention to customer needs has led the company to ensure an increasingly close relationship of collaboration, very short delivery times (even less than 24 hours) and tailor-made formulations for each foundry.”
