The SKORPION key exchange system has been developed to provide a robust mechanical interlock of the mobile shelters of hazardous machines.
The system is based on the release principle, with a predetermined sequence of coded mechanical keys, so as to ensure the electrical isolation of the machine from the power supply network before allowing any access to hazardous parts.
The machine must be isolated by turning the key (first key) present on the electric disconnector. Only after this operation can the first key be removed from the disconnector and used to release the other keys that will allow access to dangerous parts of the machinery.
After the release of the first key, the safety of the machine is achieved without the need for other electrical connections: this makes the system usable in all environments with severe conditions.
